To produce recommendations, NextPlay sends the necessary items to our AI provider (Anthropic): game titles from your library, ratings, categories, and the free text describing your tastes. These transfers do not include your email address. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, this data is not used to train its models. See "Subprocessors" below.
We do not sell your data. We rely on providers that process it on our behalf:
| Provider | Role |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Database hosting, authentication, storage. |
| Anthropic | AI recommendation generation (see §3). |
| Resend | Sending sign-in emails (magic link). |
| Expo | Delivering push notifications. |
| RevenueCat | Subscription management and tracking. |
| Apple | Payment and billing processing via the App Store. |
| Valve (Steam) | Reading your public library during a Steam import. |
| IGDB | Game metadata (artwork, genres, release dates). |
| IsThereAnyDeal | Game prices and deals. |
Some providers (notably Anthropic and Apple) may process data in the United States. Such transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your personal data is deleted (see §8). Data strictly required to meet our legal obligations (e.g. accounting) may be retained for the period required by law.
Access to your data is restricted by database-level security rules (RLS): each person can only access their own data. Data is encrypted in transit. As no method is completely secure, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Under the GDPR, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection.
NextPlay is not intended for anyone under 13 (or the minimum age required by the law of your country). We do not knowingly collect data about children.
We may update this policy. For any significant change, we will notify you in the app. The date at the top of the page reflects the latest version.
